So y'all know I moved recently. And I got to say, my commute is perfect. It's about 6 miles, which is long enough to actually warm the car up to proper operating temp, but short enough that I don't waste too much gas.
Just me the road, and of course all the traffic heading to the industrial park from Quebec at 6am! Damn guys turn down your brights.
Anyways, today I really got to push along the road noone in front. It was awesome.
Check it out!

Good commutes are good. I can do mine in 17 miles but if I can spare the time I prefer this route. http://goo.gl/DvN30m

Looks fun!! This commute is far more fun than my longer 23 km one (about 16 miles) down a freeway I used to have although early morning freeway driving is sort of nice in it's own way.
Do you get traffic? I leave my house at 6am so no traffic jams for me.

I have about 14 miles in 20 minutes. If I had a 6 mile commute i'd be biking. Have you ever tried that?

Yeah I biked to work one summer. It was awesome. Problem is, I go to school after work everyday so you;d have to add that into the biking, then biking home which is a bit far. Also this is Canada winter don't play.
I also leave my house at 6am. Tis dark.

I don't have to be at work until 9 so I typically don't leave before 8:30 am. If I take the highway straight there it's 20 minutes and a little traffic but nothing really. If I take the backroads there's no traffic but it takes a bit too long.

That route seems pretty swell (much better than the 417 or the transitway). Also, if you have time, the trail by the river is a nice walk.

This is my commute over the summers when I'm working. Long straights with well-timed lights means great fuel economy.
This is my commute back. Still long straights, but with a great downhill left-hander that transitions into an uphill right-hander (both tight turns). Plus, it's right after a stop sign and under an overpass, so you can gun it off the line and hear the exhaust note rattle around under the bridge as you're accelerating into the curve. I love it.
...I miss my car.

Also am jealous you get to have nice weather all the time. That must be amazing. Someday, I won't have to experience winters where the high temperature is -15F.
I could tell you how cold it is, but there is only one way to know, by experience.

I grew up inte pacific northwest (Canadian side) and now live in eastern ontario. Would swap winters with pacific northwest 10/10 times.
